  • 6. What topics will be covered in each level?
    Along with grammar and sentence structure, here is what each level covers: Level 1: Tones & Alphabet, Greetings, Nationalities, Occupations, and Numbers Level 2: Time, Time Words, Family, and Food Order Level 3: Preposition, Clothes, Transportation, and Direction Level 4: TBD Level 5: TBD Intermediate: TBD
  • 2. Can I skip Level 1 if I don’t know how to read or write in Vietnamese, but know how to speak and understand a little bit of Vietnamese?
    Unfortunately, you cannot. If you don't know how to read or write, Level 1 is a great starting point for you.
  • 7. What happens if I have to miss a class during the program?
    You’re welcome to join other group classes offered in the same week to make it up. Or you can watch the recording to catch up.
  • 1. Is the Level 1 - Introductory Course good for people who have no prior learning background?
    Yes, our Level 1 course is beginner-friendly and designed for people who have no prior background in Vietnamese.
  • 3. I’ve taken Vietnamese formally, can I skip Level 1 and move on to Level 2+?
    Yes, you can if you show proof of completion and pass our Level 1 Assessment. Email us at info@lotusvietnameselanguage.com for more details.
  • 8. What is the difference between Child/Teen Curriculum vs. Adult Curriculum?
    Child/Teen Curriculum is designed for students aged 8-17. Adult Curriculum is designed for students 18 years old and above. Even if you think your Vietnamese knowledge is at an elementary level, if you’re over 18, you belong to the Adult Curriculum
  • 4. How often do you offer classes?
    We offer Level 1 courses year-round: Jan-Feb, Apr-May, Jul-Aug and Oct-Nov. We also offer Level 2+ courses depending on interests. Please check our website regularly for more information on our courses.
  • 5. What is the Class Structure?
    This is an online, in real-time, interactive course. Lessons are taught through Zoom. Materials are shared via Google Classroom. The maximum number of students is 7. Students meet for 1 hour/week for either 7 or 8 weeks (depending on level)
  • 1. Who are private lessons mostly for?
    Currently, our private lessons are mostly for the Child/Teen Curriculum. Our Adult Curriculum private lessons are for individuals who are too advanced to join group classes, feel they do not perform well in a group setting, plan to travel to Vietnam soon, or need to learn Vietnamese for work or other specific purposes.
